Below you will find an overview of our marketing proposal process.
Step 1: The Overview
This purpose of the overview is to show our understand of your needs, position, opportunity at-hand, the market conditions you are facing, and how we can help you achieve the goals and objectives.
Step 2: Our Idea(s)
The next step is to write a overview summary about our idea(s).
Step 3: Prove Our Idea(s)
In step three, we’ll provide you with statistics and research that backs up why we think our ideas are viable.
Step 4: Objectives
In step four, we’ll list out the objectives that we plan to achieve and when. For example:
- Complete the 2010 marketing strategy and schedule within 30 days
This gives you a list of deliverables and sets the expectations and benchmarks for success. It also empowers you to keep us accountable for what we say we’ll deliver.
Step 5: Measurement of Results
In step five, we’ll establish how we’ll measure success, and we’re talking about specifics. For example:
- Increase the number of unique visitors at the website by 10% within 90 days of the campaign launch
Step 6: Timing
In step six, we’ll estimate how long it will take for us to plan, execute and provide proper analysis of the idea(s) and when we can start on the project.
Step 7: Methodology & Options
One of the unique features of our proposal is that we provide options for you to choose from. We believe that if we only provide one, you’ll see our proposal as take-it-or-leave-it. Not true. We’re here to partner and partnerships offer flexibility. Moreover, this provides you options and puts you in the drivers seat of making decisions based on your needs, not ours. Here are the options that we generally provide:
- Advisory – In this role, we typically serve in a short-term capacity, perhaps three to six months. Our aim is to establish the campaign plan, strategy and analytics, then empower your team to execute.
- Consultative – In this option, we do everything that we would have done in the advisory role, but we work with your staff individually to make sure they are trained to do the job well. We also help with the initial execution of the campaign, but leave the day-to-day details to your team. The timing of this option could range from three to twelve months.
- Collaborative – In this option, we do all of the above PLUS we work in the day-to-day. The estimated time of involvement will depend on the complexity of the project. Just think of as your outsourced marketing department. Yeah, fun huh!
Step 8: Terms & Conditions
In step eight, we present the following:
- financial fees for each of the above options
- payment terms (how much you need upfront to start the contract; discount if contract is paid in full upfront, etc)
- expense terms
- any other conditions needed to complete the proposal
In Conclusion
While this process may seem long and drawn out, you’re right it is. The proposal is where we define what it takes for everybody to win, and that is the foundation of success. After all, what keeps you coming back are results, right!
